About St James Cathedral | About the Anglican Communion | Restoration Update | Lent & Easter 2012 |

Welcome to our site!  St. James' Cathedral stands in the heart of a busy and multicultural city as a reminder of God's generosity and hospitality.  We seek to be a voice of reconciliation in a sometimes hostile world, a place of pilgrimage for those who seek healing and spiritual transformation, a place for dialogue and action on issues of social and political concern.  I hope that your visit to our site, no matter how brief, may be a time to enjoy the beauty and peace of this special place.

-The Very Reverend Douglas Stoute,
Dean of Toronto & Rector of St. James' Cathedral

Update on the search for a Director of Music

St. James Cathedral is blessed with outstanding musicians dedicated to creating the best musical offering possible in our worship of Almighty God. The Cathedral community is grateful for the gifted leadership of Interim Music Director Andrew Adair and Interim Choral Director Vicki St. Pierre.

A small advisory group has been meeting to reflect on the future of the Cathedral's music program and advertisements for the post of Cathedral Music Director have been placed. By next summer we hope to have a new Director in place who will build on the excellence of the Cathedral's tradition of liturgical music and ensure St. James a place in the heart of the cultural life of Toronto.

A complete position description may be viewed here (PDF).

The deadline for applications is January 31, 2012.
